Happy Wednesday. I’m not sure what your week has looked like, but I’ll share a little of mine.
Sunday, Haidyn, Harlem, and I went to see the new Paw Patrol movie. We had a great time together, and afterward I stopped to get gas on my way home. I filled up, came home, got Harlem ready for bed, and went on with the rest of my night like any normal day.
Monday came. After getting Harlem to school, I realized I didn’t have my wallet.
The last place I remembered having it was when I got gas. I retraced my steps, called the movie theater, and checked everywhere I could think of. My wallet had my driver’s license, all of my credit cards, and a substantial amount of cash inside.
After several days of making calls, searching, and even filing a police report, my wallet still hasn’t been recovered.
To be honest, the last several days have felt like a nightmare at times. But somewhere in the middle of all of it, I was reminded of something simple:
I’m still here.
And that alone gave me a reason to pause and think about all the things I have to be grateful for.
I don’t know what life has thrown at you this week. Maybe things have gone exactly how you hoped, or maybe you’re dealing with something you never saw coming. And I don’t know what the rest of this week may bring for any of us.
But regardless, I want to encourage you to be grateful — for the good, the bad, and even the ugly. Sometimes the things that disrupt our plans have a way of reminding us what really matters.
So, cheers to this Mindful Moment.
Take a second. Breathe. Be present. And remember to appreciate the fact that you’re here.
